Illdisposed: To those who walk behind us
12/10/09 || Kampfar
I love Denmark, it being about the only worthy country left here in the cesspool commonly referred to as Western Europe. No, that’s not the reason I love Illdisposed, though I have to admit it doesn’t exactly hurt the erection of mine pointed at their general direction. I think general direction was first coined by that fucking idiot who wrote “A nonsense guide to the galaxy”, aka the bible of LSD nuts and so-called normal twats trying to be cool and out-there in the twilight-zone. All of you, go fuck yourselves, minus a friend of mine that is. His name is Einar, but to me he is Einar-LSD.*
“1-800 Vindication” was the last Illdisposed platter worth wanking over, a fact “To those who walk behind us” changes not, but this lot of Vikings gone a bit stale remains on my list of love still. I hate the name of that list, not necro enough, but hate is never in play when I’m playing “To those who falter behind us” – only a need to do “Submit”, “There’s something…”, or “1-800…” instead.
And that’s their curse, for after Lasse B. Laart fucked off – got fucked off, I don’t care – Illdisposed haven’t been the same. They are still onto something but the last bit of magic, the one able to ignite the murky groove from Hel, isn’t sparkling anymore.** Then again, I’m sure the whole bunch are keen on some killing already, tired waiting for a chance to fight the war brought upon us by idiots and do-gooders. We are talking the same coin here, fuckos.
Be sure of this, I’d love to fight alongside Illdisposed even if they covered all of Bob Marley next.
“Those who walk behind us” is a worthier purchase than most albums released in 2009. It’s a bit better than their last, a bit however not changing the fact that you idiots should rather shell out for them albums I mentioned earlier. Still, they are improving, literally one step at the time, so if you live to see 2015 you’ll hear another classic with their name on it.
Oh, this album of course sounds rather ace, the production packing lots of punch and such. Also, the highlights on this thing, in no particular order is: “Seeking truth – telling lies”, “If all the world”, “Johnny” and the start of “To those who walk behind me”. The low-point is “Nu gik det lige så godt”. Over and out, my job is done here.
*Lumberjack ain’t a LSD-nut, he’s just nuts.
**Murky groove from Hel only applies to “Submit” but you can all fuck off anyway.
